Congratulations to Brett Watts, RN, a house supervisor at Conway Regional Medical Center. Brett is the winner of the latest DAISY award, which honors extraordinary nurses for providing exemplary care for their patients and co-workers.

Brett received the award for the compassion that he showed a patient who was receiving chemotherapy. After a long day of treatment, the patient was due for a second dose the next day and lived two hours from the hospital, according to the award nomination. Brett found her a place to stay at the Conway Regional Guest House for the night and provided her with gift certificates to nearby Stoby’s restaurant and Patti Cakes bakery.

The co-worker who nominated watts for the award wrote, “It had been a very long day for the patient…Our patients have great struggles in their lives dealing with cancer. Thank you to Brett for going above and beyond. It relieved her and her family members of late night travels, not to mention a provided good night’s sleep after the very long day she had.”

Brett has served as a house supervisor for the past seven years after working in the Emergency Department and the Intensive Care Unit. The DAISY award includes a stone statue, an honors certificate, a two-month parking space, and cinnamon rolls. Conway Regional winners of the award are considered for the national DAISY award.
