"Kim treats each individual the same. She shows tremendous care and compassion toward her coworkers by recognizing them and letting them know how much she loves working with them," reads Kim Baker, RN's DAISY award-winning nomination.
Kim Baker, a registered nurse with Reclaim, the adult psychiatric care unit at Conway Regional Medical Center, has achieved the health system’s highest award for exemplary care. She was praised for the compassionate care that she provides to patients and coworkers alike.
Baker of Menifee has been a registered nurse at Conway Regional for 20 years.
Her nomination read, “Kim treats each individual the same. She shows tremendous care and compassion toward her coworkers by recognizing them and letting them know how much she loves working with them.”
Baker often helps when staffing is low. She also provides items for discharged patients, including clothing for homeless patients. When the census is low, Baker contacts area emergency departments seeking patients.
The DAISY award, which recognizes registered nurses for providing exemplary care, is voted on every two months by the health system’s Patient Care Governing Congress based on an anonymous nomination and selection process. Winners of the award are nominated for national recognition through the international DAISY program.
DAISY recipients receive the healer’s touch miniature stone sculpture along with team rewards points, a two-month exclusive parking space, cinnamon rolls, and an award certificate.
