The grateful wife added, “I have known Laura for many years and have seen the same sweet compassion in everything she does.”
Laura Elliott, an imaging tech at Conway Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center (COSMC), is the latest Conway Regional team member to achieve the Be Exceptional Everyday (BEE) Award. The BEE award recognizes non-nurses for providing exceptional care and showing compassion to patients, co-workers, and visitors.
Laura was nominated for the award by the wife of a patient at COSMC after using her personal snacks to relieve the patient’s wife who was suffering from leg cramps.
“She demonstrated compassion for me, even though my husband was the patient being seen in the clinic,” wrote the wife who began experiencing painful leg cramps during a recent visit. Once Elliott realized the wife was in pain and could barely walk, “she was completely supportive and asked what I needed.”
The nomination read, “I told her that I usually drink pickle juice when I have leg cramps. She immediately said, ‘I have pickles!’ She had a package of convenience store pickles in her personal snacks and opened them and gave them to me.” After the cramps subsided, Elliott completed the patient’s imaging.
The grateful wife added, “I have known her for many years and have seen the same sweet compassion in everything she does.”
